INTRODUCTION:

Pharmacy Technician as a Course of Study: is a program designed by the Pharmacy Council of Nigeria (PCN) to train serious minded individuals by licensed pharmacists through an organized academic education of six semesters and a six month SIWES, to become a Health Care Professional, that is focused on the Health and safety of patients using the knowledge of the use of simple medicines they have acquired, under the core supervision of a licensed pharmacist.

Pharmacy Technician as a Professional: is a health care provider who is under OATH and under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to ensure the health and the safety of their patients.

This therefore means that the profession is patient safety and life saving focused. So, both the Training and the Practice are guided by Ethical Principles (values, standards, conducts, and moral judgment).

So, as a Department we have Values, Vision, Mission and Goals.
